It has been a big week for me. I did get the job offer that I talked about in an earlier post. I will have a transition period while my current boss posts for my replacement. I have a lot to learn. My new role will be very different from what I have been doing for the past 15 years. Between working on my side hustles, I need to fine-tune my project management skills. I start transitioning next week but officially start on March 1st.
I am continuing to work on videos and my Instagram accounts. I’m posting almost daily. I also set up be website on Google Maps and Apple Maps. It won’t show until the verification is complete, but this is all a work in progress.
Last week I joined Tumblr and Reddit. I don’t know how I feel about either yet. I supposed I need to get used to using them. My husband has been on Reddit for years.
I completed another video about Kinsale, Ireland, on YouTube. I will have to see what kind of traction it gets. Last week I wrote about the Dingle Peninsula and posted videos on YouTube and Instagram. Here are the results six days later:
· Website article views: 8
· Instagram views: 43 views on Instagram Reels, six likes
· YouTube views: 6 views
Not stellar. I have not duplicated the views of the Guinea Pig video that got over 3,000 Instagram views and 1,022 YouTube views. I know it takes time to grow. It is difficult when you don’t get the same number of views on other videos. This week I will track the views of the next video on all three sites again.
Another thing I can do to improve my videos and pictures is to use our drone more. I haven’t used it in months. I had big plans to take seasonal photographs and haven’t done so since this summer. We are supposed to get snow late Sunday. I will have to take advantage of being off Monday. Lake Erie should have a lot of ice on it.
My son came down with a bug but is starting to feel better. We are hoping to go skiing at Boston Mills tomorrow. I should be able to get some nice pictures and possibly some videos there. I haven’t skied in years. So I am a little nervous, especially since I’m not too fond of heights.
Have a wonderful weekend.
