Have you heard of Redbubble? Well, I’m late for the party. Over the past few weeks, I have been building a store to sell photos and some minimalist graphic designs. They held a few for further review to ensure I didn’t take them from someone else. I took that as a good sign that at least a few things were good enough that stealing was a concern. I need about 100+ designs to grow the store from what I can see online. I have 19 designs listed so far. I still have plenty of work to do, but I’m curious to see how it goes over time.
I focus primarily on travel t-shirts, bags, cups, stickers, etc. But, I’m also working on holiday and birthday cards. So, if you were going to purchase a custom t-shirt, mousepad, etc., what would you look for in a design? Let me know in the comments!
The Flamingo picture is one of my favorites. I love that we can use our own photos, make some slight changes, and create something new. I took this picture in Sarasota Florida a few months ago.
Redbubble is intriguing because customers can purchase your design on whatever you have authorized to sell. If your print looks good on a t-shirt or baseball cap, sell it! You don’t have to have any inventory on hand because it is all printed on demand.
A while back, l talked about animal videos generating the most views on Instagram and YouTube. I posted a video of a water snake on Lake Erie on Instagram and got 7,110 views and 213 likes. Yesterday I posted the same video on YouTube. It now has 1,600+ views and ten likes. I happened to be at the right place at the right time when I got that video. I didn’t edit the video. It is frustrating because I’ve spent time editing and creating other videos and don’t have that number of views for all the other videos combined. Huge eye roll.
I joined TikTok but haven’t used it much. I’ll have to start posting there. I have so many things I want to try, but I know I need to narrow my focus before I keep trying new platforms.
My parents came to visit and we took a two mile walk through Sheldon's Marsh in Huron Ohio. I really love that walk. We saw frogs, turtles, birds, fish, chipmunks and obviously a snake. It is relaxing there but a great way to get some steps in as well. It definitely doesn't hurt that I always get great photos and the snake video on trips to this Nature Preserve.
What gives you daily inspiration? Let me know.
Note: I do not have a paid sponsorship or business relationship with Redbubble, Instagram, or YouTube. I am simply sharing my experience as I use the platforms.
